Future Problem Solvers 2005-2006
Southern Arizona Community Academy has once again participated successfully in the internationally renowned Future Problem Solving Program. We expected great things from out team this year as two of our state champs from 2004, Sarah Dahlin and Sarah Hoglund, led our new team, and the team did not disappoint. Our new team members, Rory Ksionda and Jackee Walters, were diligent and learned quickly under the guidance of our more seasoned teammates. We completed our qualifying problem and were ranked number one in the senior divisions going into the state competition. At stated we enjoyed stiff competition from the senior team from Canyon Del Oro High School. The packets were judged carefully, and our team prevailed after a tie-breaking, third round evaluation. Our proud SACA Eagles FPS team placed first in the state packet competition and second in the skit competition. With the first place win, our team was eligible to go on the International Conference in Ft. Collins, Colorado in June. The team is proud of all that they have accomplished this year; taking first place in state competition with two members new to the program is quite a feat. All of us at SACA are proud of our champion FPS members!
