Mr. Mark Anthony Febbo
Position at SACA:   Language Arts Instructor
In my fourth year as English and General Studies Instructor at Southern Arizona Community Academy, my goal is to use classroom resources and my knowledge-base to help students fully achieve academic goals. I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and attended Mary Lynn Elementary, Safford Middle School, and Pueblo High School. In 2006, I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Arizona with a double major in English and creative writing. During the course of my college studies, I took pleasure in freelance writing for the Arizona Daily Star, and in working in the field of archaeology as a laboratory technician for Statistical Research, Inc. I also served as managing editor of the Aztec Press, and technical editor of SandScript Magazine. I was published in the UA's Persona, and was the recipient of the 2006 Fred N. Scott Award for fiction writing for the short story “The Purity of Mud.” When I’m not teaching or playing guitar, I can probably be found hiking, backpacking or camping somewhere. My favorite outdoor activity is whitewater boating. In the past year I have paddled and camped on rivers in Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Oregon.
